Key Points:
• Master Bed and Master Bath fields will be changed to Primary Bed and Primary Bath
• All related fields will reflect the same name change
• The label “Primary” is more broadly applicable and consistent with the current market environment
• All saved searches and auto emails were automatically updated to reflect the name change – no action is needed
On March 9, REcolorado will be changing the name of “Master Bed” and “Master Bath” fields to “Primary Bed” and “Primary Bath.”
Why are you changing the label “Master” to “Primary” in REcolorado Matrix?
REcolorado has consistently received feedback from subscribers requesting the term “Master” be removed from REcolorado Matrix MLS. NAR and HUD maintain the stance using the term Master is not discriminating in nature nor does it have a negative connotation. However, our Rules and Regulations committee, made up of your peers, voted to change the label across REcolorado systems. Updating the field from Master to Primary is more broadly applicable and consistent with the current market environment and may help bring a positive change for our subscribers.
What fields are affected?
Any field that referred to a room or feature as “Master” will be changed to “Primary” on March 9. This includes several options in the Room Type field:
Master Bedroom | → | Primary Bedroom |
Master Bathroom (1/2) | → | Primary Bathroom (1/2) |
Master Bathroom (1/4) | → | Primary Bathroom (1/4) |
Master Bathroom (3/4) | → | Primary Bathroom (3/4) |
Master Bathroom (Full) | → | Primary Bathroom (Full) |
Additionally, the option Master Suite within the Interior Features field will be updated to Primary Suite.
The label change will happen automatically. You do not need to do anything – saved searches and auto emails that include the fields above will be automatically converted to the new name.
Where will I see this change?
You will see the label change from Master to Primary in REcolorado Matrix right away. All REcolorado products including REcolorado.com and the REcolorado App, will also be updated to reflect the change from Master to Primary. Additionally, IDX or VOW websites that display detailed room information must be updated to reflect the new names.
