REcolorado Gives Back: Supporting We Don’t Waste in Feeding Denver Families

At REcolorado, our commitment to community runs deep. This week, seven of our dedicated team members rolled up their sleeves to support We Don’t Waste, an inspiring Denver-based nonprofit with a mission close to our hearts.

We Don’t Waste is on a quest to tackle food insecurity and reduce waste by recovering high-quality, unused food from restaurants, caterers, and other food service providers.

They then distribute this food, free of charge, to food pantries, schools, shelters, and through Mobile Food Markets to those in need. They also champion nutrition education and advocate for greater food access, all while working to protect our planet from unnecessary waste.

“What’s great about volunteering for We Don’t Waste is that you get to see the immediate impact of your efforts” – Stephanie Morton, REcolorado

REcolorado team members helped set up a walk-up food market that distributes food to families in the Villa Park, Valverde, and Barnum neighborhoods – bringing free fresh food to families without any cost.

We Don’t Waste does not charge for their services—whether they are donating or receiving food. Instead, they rely on community support to keep the mission going.
